We have much pleasure in testifying to the abilities of Mr. DAVID Woon, who has recently been appointed Chief in our Office, and in addition to looking after the ordinary duties of Cashier and the Correspondence, he has been giving his special attention to costing, to the checking of stores, men's time, and indeed we are at this moment establishing under Mr. Wood and our Auditors a complete, short and effective system of costing, and also store. keeping, which we expect will be most useful to us. Mr. Wood is most upright in his behaviour, hearty in co-operating with me in carrying on this concern; and if we lose Mr. WooD we lose a good man, who satisfies us in every way, and it will not be easy to fill his place; for in addition to his qualities mentioned above he has a clear knowledge of accounts, and keeps his books most accurately.
